Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

It Stood Up with a Deer
Q: Was there any indication of ancestry or local lore connected to the land where this happened?
Yes, Indigenous burial grounds nearby and the belief that the land is protected by a guardians or land protector, which locals referenced and ceremonies were performed to respect and protect the site.
It Stood Up with a Deer
Q: How did you react in the moment, and what did you do to escape?
I slammed the four-wheeler into gear, sped toward the home clearing, and then ran into the house while the others managed to chase the creature away with gunfire and shouts, eventually driving off in fear.
It Stood Up with a Deer
Q: What exactly did you see when the creature first came into view?
A towering, jet-black figure that looked like a massive dog or wolf standing on two legs, with a muscular build, huge eyes, a mane-like fur around the neck, and elongated forelimbs that moved with surprising dexterity.
It Dropped To All Fours
Q: What convinced you not to pursue killing a cryptid after hearing it speak and observe you?
After hearing the creatures speak in two separate exchanges, the guest realized they possess language and sentience, which made him reconsider harming them and instead pursue understanding and documentation.
It Dropped To All Fours
Q: Could you tell us about each of your sightings, including the 2010 Rainbow Springs encounter and the later 2016 experience?
The 2010 sighting involved a black, six-and-a-half to seven-foot cryptid that dropped to all fours and vanished quickly, with a leather-like facial texture and a strong shoulder-to-shoulder build. The 2016 experience included an encounter during fieldwork with audio and camera gear, where the creature followed up the ridge and stayed upwind, leading to multiple corroborating observations and later photo analysis.
