  • Solid, funny and often thoughtful

Pretty sure I first heard AP as a guest on Seriah Azkath’s “Where Did The Road Go?”, (which to me is the gold standard of modern paranormal podcasts). When I heard AP had his own pod, I started checking it out. It features many of the same guests so I liked it right away. AP’s style is a little more laid back, more humorous, and more relaxed. I enjoy the show, and along with WDTRG and Tim Binnall’s “Binnall of America” pod, AP’s show has become one of my go-to listens that I often look forward t... more

  • Phenomenal

I must first disclose I am related to Stephanie, The Best Older Sister. Ever!

I enjoy the alternate point of view Matt et al provide in every episode which has expanded my understanding of alternative understanding. Having a background in adult education I always am curious to suss out the ways of knowing and foundational belief systems persons employ. And, yes, those ladies were soooper lost and scared. I just needed a minute to finish up.

  • Greatest Wormtown Weirdo podcast!

A mere 3 minutes into the 1st episode AP displays his podcast dominance by pronouncing Ypsilanti correctly. I know some great podcasts with a terrible first episode. This is not one of them. This one is a banger! Great guest and terrific conversation. Bonus points for the reference to his Parsons research which is what made me a fan of his blog, and then for the plug for Worcester’s Turtle-boy. AP delivers!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Seeing the Unseen Internet with Shira Chess
Q: What is the takeaway for listeners who study or advertise in this space?
Understand that the real impact is in how discourse shapes perception and technology, not whether the magical practices are true; the important part is observing how communities use these ideas to challenge or reinforce power structures online.
Seeing the Unseen Internet with Shira Chess
Q: What drew you to the topic of the unseen internet and techno-paganism?
The guest explains she shifted from video game scholarship during the pandemic, revisited the Slender Man era, and found a productive path connecting esoteric thought with media history to examine how internet discourse forms modern folklore.
Considering Cryptids with Sharon Hill
Q: How would you define cryptid or cryptozoology today, given how much the terminology has evolved?
Cryptozoology has struggled with a strict scientific identity; it often blends zoology, folklore, and sociology, making it hard to pin down a consistent methodology, while cryptids themselves range from potential animals to culturally constructed legends influenced by media.
Digging into the Dodleston Messages with Dr. Cinzia Yates
Q: What first drew you to the Dodleston story, Cinzia?
I approached it from a combination of ethnographic curiosity and a careful look at the sources, noticing how the story connects personal memory, archival records, and linguistic analysis to form a multi-layered mystery that's still unresolved.
Saving Gotham City with Virgo Blade (3xtC)
Q: Where did Batman begin for Virgo Blade, and how did his connection to Tim Drake shape his view of the Batman mythos?
Virgo explains that his early fascination with Batman started through Tim Drake and that 90s Batman media laid the foundation for his lifelong interest, which expanded into critiques and appreciations of different on-screen adaptations.
