  • Epstein Class

Usually enjoy Douglas’s podcast and particularly liked his analysis of the scientific wing of the Epstein class. As a non-elite scientist I demand better representation by the “guiding lights”. Not all of us are card carrying reductionist materialists. And it was never clear to me why a significant fraction of the scientific elite are doctrinaire jerks; I guess that’s matter in motion fer ya !

  • Refreshing Informative Hopeful

On my second episode planning to listen to more. Surprisingly hopeful conversations engaging distressing topics. Want to share my perspective that while psychedelics can help people open their minds, if you’re surrounded by fear and authoritarianism it’s not going to change your perspective in reference to the from Meta to Soma episode.

  • On Self-Care

I’m glad Rushkoff is prioritizing self-care as he describes on his most recent podcast. Without firming our own foundation, we will reach out from a crumbling one and bring people into instability. In short, self-care is not selfish. And this is especially true for those pushing against dominant narratives about tech being synonymous with advancement. The cure to tech addiction is uninterrupted thought; boredom that is allowed to morph into creativity without the impediment of neon distraction. ... more

  • Draws too long a bow

Was enjoying Rushkoff’s podcasts but he seemed to draw too long a bow accusing University protestors of being authoritarian based on one silly comment while ignoring the real issue they are trying to communicate. Of all the authoritarian examples he could speak to he decides to speak down to and about the powerless young. Very patronising. Emotional reactionary rant that lacked intellectual rigor
