  • THIS podcast.

I love this podcast. I grew up skateboarding in the 80s and into the 90s. I still have a skateboard today I’m 46. I really enjoyed the episodes with Jesse Paez and Nik Freitas. I’m from Hanford. Those guys would come to our skate park and we would just sit down. It was so rad to finally have our own skate park. Get Tom Knox on the pod!!!!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

CHRIS GREGSON Talkin' Swampfest vs Disneyland | part 2
Q: What's the most scared you've ever been while filming a slam?
The Lizzie Armanto mega ramp slam stands out as the scariest moment, because it looked like a life-threatening situation and required rapid, careful response to get the skater to safety without delaying essential care.
CHRIS GREGSON Talkin' Swampfest vs Disneyland | part 2
Q: How do you decide when to wear a helmet as a filmer, given the risks around BMX and skate events?
Helmet use depends on the skate discipline and risk level; I wear a helmet for vert or mega ramp where the risk is higher, but for bowls I might skate without one if I feel in control and within my comfort zone.
CHRIS GREGSON Talkin' Swampfest vs Disneyland | part 2
Q: What drove you into filming skating instead of pursuing a pro skating career?
I chose filming because it offered a sustainable path and allowed me to stay immersed in the sport while still telling the stories I cared about; money and opportunity also played a big role in shaping that decision.
CHRIS GREGSON Talkin' Blood Wizard Skateboards
Q: What was the first video clip you filmed that ended up in a video, and who directed it?
The first clip Gregson filmed that ended up in a video was of Colin Provost for Like This Is My Element, directed by Kirk DeAnda, which helped launch his entry into bigger projects.
DENNIS BUSENITZ | Classic Schmit | Ep. 40
Q: What was the turning point in your career during your California years?
The Tampa trip and meeting key figures, followed by his placement on the Deluxe team, which accelerated his exposure and opportunities in the US skate scene.
