Thanks for sending in your feedback! Now that we have the benefit of looking back on the complete series of We Own This City, we have the advantage of looking at this multi-layer problem as a whole. This show offers us viewers a chance to engage with... more
David Simon ends his statement in a finale that leaves us both heartbroken and hopeful. The bad guys in blue are behind bars, but that’s not enough. The current broken system will churn out more. Does Jenkins, and people like him, truly realize that ... more
In the penultimate episode of We Own This City, we’re seeing the investigation probe deeper into the corruption of the police department and the boys in blue are getting antsy. Nicole Steele shares a new layer and insight to her personal experiences.... more
Looking at the systemic problems impeding justice, we wonder: how do we create solutions? And that’s the rub, there are no immediate solutions. The way forward will be incremental changes over years. Sounds like too long? It is. This is a multigenera... more
With only two episodes left to go, we are soon approaching the end of We Own This City. We hear the title of the show said in this episode and it’s as infuriating as it should be. The show asks the question, when the bully cops go too far even by the... more
This show makes us mad, in a good way. We’re getting a wider scope of the issues ingrained in the BPD and the bad police policy implemented decades ago that just kept getting worse over the years. Follow us on our episode breakdown by topic as we dis... more
It’s only episode two and We Own This City is laying out the big problems in the Baltimore Police Department. As to be expected, it’s a grim picture of corrupted departments and justice. What do you do with a law task force that has no regard for the... more

An essential companion to the series. I absolutely loved the Wire, and We Own This City did not disappoint. It was great to have the discussion between the guys to go to after the episode.
Smart and smooth. I dig their House of Dragon too! They’re more straightforward than jokey so not high on comedy, but I would listen to them discuss any show.
Sooo glad to have these guys back on a crime drama (vs garbage like TWD and comic/IP/scifi).
It would have had a little more of the BM production value I’m used to with some kind of music intro (a la GOT and BB), but considering they’ve all but given up on BCS for some reason, I’ll take what I can get.
As a screenwriter myself I always get the nuts and bolts on a story’s DNA. Simon started covering the street if Baltimore in 84. So the drug culture he saw though old by The Wires debut was still in effect. The cell phone pay phone thing was a update if beepers which were everywhere back then (I’m a 70’s baby btw). There is a big difference between the 80/90’s drug dealers and the 70’s. Just google the infamous Nikky Barnes NY Times Magazine cover. Dude is in a suit. When I was 12 the hustlers w... more
Podcast recaps episodes perfectly and discuss small details you might miss in show they are also pretty funny
I love this show, but I just can’t get behind this podcast. From “Freddie Green” down to the co-host consistently referring to himself as “A-Ron” (circa Key & Peele) these guys just seem kinda disconnected but “wanting to be woke” if you will. I just can’t buy it. They seem disingenuous to me.
You guys are clueless. Freddie Green? Seriously?? Do your homework. This is not season 6 of The Wire. We all love Simon but pay attention to THIS story and stop pretending you are Wire-wise. And give Justin Fenton his due. The facts are easily researchable because guess what? This is based on a true story.
Thank you guys
How can the host say he loves David Simon’s work yet has not watched Treme?
And how can the host be a fan of David Simon’s work and refer to Freddie Grey as “Freddie Green?” Come on- do your homework!
Looking forward to the Baldmove coverage of this new David Simon show!! Jim and A.Ron always have fun and insightful takes on the shows they cover.
