Some managed to escape him, but police believe this good-looking stranger was responsible for the kidnapping, torture and murders of many more young women. The grieving families of his victims refuse to let their daughters and sisters be forgotten, a... more

Update: unfollowing the pod after episode 2 because I can’t stand the host’s voice.
The story is very interesting however, the host’s voice is unbearably annoying and the cadence in which they’re speaking is unnatural. It’s like everything is drawn out for dramatic effect listening on 1.3x helps
Very well narrated. Can’t wait for the next episode!
Overall a great podcast! I highly recommend. This is only the second or third time I’ve felt compelled to write a response to a podcast in over a decade of pretty heavy podcast consumption. I was surprisingly shocked and saddened by the producer’s strong judgement of the reaction of a young man (a 19 yo in the 1970’s) who allegedly encountered a girl in the woods, bloody and tied to a tree. I don’t think it’s at all fair to label him “a coward” for his decision to run home for help, instead of ... more
I can’t begin to thank Carolyn and Brandon enough for doing this complicated series about the 1st serial killer of our hometown who most people in our town never heard of.
Finally people will now know all the murders and rapes and tortures he committed without facing justice, not just the two he’s been convicted of.
I just in the last year or two found out about witnesses out in Dole Valley during the winter of 1971 after more than 52 years.
Every day I say a prayer that my sister’s remains will... more
A very addictive telling of the stories of victims and survivors of a serial killer I never heard of. Yes, as another reviewer has mentioned, the filler bits of having the producer argue his views with the narrator are subpar but it’s only a few moments in one episode, when they could not locate a witness they wanted to speak to. It is disturbing Norma Jean’s incredible story of escape was not believed. Great podcast.
