I will gladly edit my review to be 5 stars, once you add time clips in the description so I don’t have to listen about football or college nonsense

  • Love Scoops

My 2 favorite shows are ‘Wednesdays with Walton and Newberry’ and a ‘Great talk’ with Marty and Danny. Scoops is just a classic website with good writing from Bernie and plenty of great podcasts including the 2 I mentioned. I like the James Carlton Mizzou pods too!

  • Dan mailing it in

Martin’s back has to be hurting from carrying Dan every Monday. Since Dan was (justifiably) fired for who knows how many DUIs, he’s totally disinterested in any local sports. “I didn’t watch” “I was sleeping” all too common retorts when Martin tries to discuss the week past. Very tired, get Ben Fred on with Martin, would improve the show dramatically.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

John Wensink: Blues Draftee, Bruins Career, Blues Alumni – Blues Hockey Legends
Q: Can you tell us about the moment you got called up to the Bruins and what it felt like facing your old team?
I was called up during a home-and-home against the Blues, played the Bruins, and the experience felt like a milestone that confirmed my transition from minor leagues to the NHL, with Grapes supporting the move.
John Wensink: Blues Draftee, Bruins Career, Blues Alumni – Blues Hockey Legends
Q: How did you handle the transition to the NHL and your first pro coach Don Cherry?
Don Cherry (Grapes) played a pivotal role; he pushed me, coached me through Rochester and then guided my early NHL exposure, including the dynamic of being called up and dealing with tough competition.
John Wensink: Blues Draftee, Bruins Career, Blues Alumni – Blues Hockey Legends
Q: Who was your influencer? When did you put on your first pair of skates and who encouraged you to get into hockey?
My early environment in Maxville with a strong local culture and access to junior hockey helped me start; I was invited to play junior B at 13, which set the path toward the NHL.
UpSwing Golf & Will Saulsbery – Golf with Jay Delsing
Q: What problem is UpSwing trying to solve for junior golfers?
They designed a system where club heads unscrew and longer shafts can be inserted, allowing clubs to grow with the child and reduce the need for buying new sets every growth spurt.
Hoops on Scoops 24: One on One with Stu Durando on the Billikens’ Off-Season
Q: How will the offense adapt without Avila initiating actions at the top of the key?
The host and guest acknowledge that coach will tweak the system annually; without Avila, SLU will adjust how guards and bigs run actions, with ongoing experimentation through practice to determine optimal on-court chemistry.
