  • Great show, 4 broadcast titans

It’s a great show, glad they were able to get it up, and available on Apple podcasts daily and fairly quickly. Tom and Matt are classic KMOX hosts. Knowledgeable and fair, without crushing the Cardinals too much. Kevin and Bernie are there for that. Bernie is a legend, although he seems awfully irritated and fixated on the golden years of the Dewitt years and gives them a pass along with Mo for DRIVING THE CORVETTE while letting it break down and become a second tier franchise. We get it Bernie,... more

Gashouse Gang: Jordan Walker's Derby Breakout, Cardinals' No. 1 Draft Class & The Future of the Franchise
Q: Do you think the Cardinals should buy out Jordan Walker's arbitration years and pursue a long-term extension, given his breakout season?
The panelists discuss that an extension could be on the table, potentially with opt-outs and escalators, but the cost would be high due to Walker's rising value and age; caution is advised because waiting too long could price him out of St. Louis, while acting too soon might limit future flexibility under the CBA.

Q: How does the current CBA situation affect the teams' planning for the rest of the season?
There is concern about the timing and potential disruption from CBA negotiations, with emphasis on staying focused on baseball operations and a pragmatic approach to the schedule and competitive balance.
