I love Jimmy The Kat in like 30-60 second increments like we get on the game broadcasts. But as a half hour or hour podcast host, no thank you. This pod is about as much fun as watching paint dry, zero personality. I know Katie is with the west coast evil empire now, but bring Bernie back along with a bigger personality for a host and I’d be way more willing to tune in more consistently. Until that happens it’s a hard pass for me dawg. 🤷🏻‍♂️

What a joke. Not a fan of the comedy show. I’ve tried several times to listen and give it a chance but it’s just not interesting. Lance seems like the only one that takes it serious. No more, I just can’t.

The Cat is a perfect host. Gibson is the good guy former player voice, Lance is a delight who has a great prick-ish side, and Holliday is the rich as balls former player who has a ton going on but when he graces us with his presence, he brings it. The former players have a good insight to the Cardinals especially and you can tell they do their homework.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Early Season Assessment, What's Up with Winn? Matt Holliday Returns!
Q: Where do the Cardinals stand compared to the start of the season, and what are the biggest concerns?
The team is around a .500 level with pitching struggles reflected in run differential and high contact rates; the offense has not fully heated up aside from a few players. The discussion highlights Masyn Wynn's slow start, lineup placement, and the need for the rotation to go deeper and the bullpen to solidify roles.
Early Season Assessment, What's Up with Winn? Matt Holliday Returns!
Q: What's the latest update on Jackson's injury and the rehab progression?
Jackson had wrist surgery and experienced some soreness on the opposite side, with inflammation noted during rehab. He was in Norfolk and then Baltimore for reassurance, with plans for more rehab and possible minor league activity in Frederick. The team is managing his return carefully to ensure he's fully healthy before activation.
Can the Cardinals Keep This Up? Brenden Schaeffer Joins!
Q: My question is, the way we're seeing this Cardinal team play with energy, some youthful mistakes, but still winning, is this sustainable?
The guest and host agree that the offense could be productive even if home run rates normalize, the bullpen has been reliable in late-inning contexts, and the rotation is designed to protect arms while maintaining competitive depth.
Jeff Suppan joins the show! Personal life, 2006 playoffs... and brawls
Q: What do you remember most about the 2006 season and the playoff run?
Suppan recalls feeling durable and trusted to pitch deep into games, the team's belief and resilience in the postseason, and the sense of momentum that carried them through the NLCS and World Series, highlighting how health, innings, and mental toughness were pivotal to their success.
Oli Marmol joins the show! Lineup, Walker, Wetherholt, clubhouse more!
Q: What are you seeing from the young group, and how do you blend analytics with traditional teaching?
Marmol describes a balance: the young players are already inclined toward analytics; the staff maintains high standards and uses open dialogue to adapt strategies and teaching methods, emphasizing honest feedback and a winning mindset.
