  • Brutal listen

I love Jimmy The Kat in like 30-60 second increments like we get on the game broadcasts. But as a half hour or hour podcast host, no thank you. This pod is about as much fun as watching paint dry, zero personality. I know Katie is with the west coast evil empire now, but bring Bernie back along with a bigger personality for a host and I’d be way more willing to tune in more consistently. Until that happens it’s a hard pass for me dawg. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Still waiting on Joshua Báez, Libby bullpen move coming soon? Nolan Gorman & Victor Scott II future
Q: How would you go about this, Brenden?
Brenden explains that the Cardinals may hesitate to rush Báez up due to arbitration thresholds and the need to see how he adjusts to big-league pitching, but also notes the potential value of a late-season promotion to provide experience without harming development. He emphasizes the possibility of a September call-up to showcase his abilities while managing expectations about long-term impact.
Lance Lynn's bold deadline takes & Jordan Walker's return home
Q: You're selling a window of opportunity but also trying to stay true to a long-term plan—how would you balance that right now?
The idea is to add depth and identify which young players are ready for big-league action while still maintaining the core strategy of building through the minors and not overpaying in free agency.
Allen Craig Joins The Show To Look Back At His Cardinals Career and Recall The 2011 World Series Run
Q: You've had obviously the highs and the lows in your major league career. In your current position, what do you tell a young prospect who hasn't been through it yet?
Craig explains that struggle is inevitable in baseball, emphasizes the importance of adaptability, self-awareness, and maintaining identity, and stresses the value of honest, coachable communication to continually improve.
Allen Craig Joins The Show To Look Back At His Cardinals Career and Recall The 2011 World Series Run
Q: We'll talk about your time as a Cardinal in a little bit. But they want to know, how is Torty?
Torty is amazing—well cared for, socialized, and thriving as the Cardinals' mascot-like presence around the team and fans.
Ryan Ludwick Talks Joshua Báez, Jordan Walker, Coaching The Cards
Q: How has the transition from eye-test to analytics shaped your coaching and daily work?
The shift is ongoing and requires constant adjustment; we blend traditional instincts with data, calibrate based on what the numbers show, and remain focused on work ethic and heart beyond what the spreadsheets reveal, because real improvement comes from consistent effort.
