The best - the best! Nicole is hilarious and witty and I love her perspective on life. Fantastic guests, wisdom, honesty, HUMOR! Love it all.
This podcast is the gold standard of queer, feminist, vegan, animal-loving podcasts. Nicole is clearly in an inner circle of “famous” creatives but not so famous herself that she’s lost her grit and humor. Favorite eps include any vegan food tastings with Morgan, the glasses fiasco, interviews with j.d. Samson, Eileen Myles, and Michelle tea, and of course, babyland. Ponyo and Chris are clearly excellent at their jobs.
I look forward to this podcast!
Sagittarian Matters has been going since 2016. I discovered it in 2020 and ended up listening to the entire series during the pandemic. Hearing about Nicole, her Portland and LA friends helped me through ! Funny, friendly and real (as well as ad free) . You don’t have to be gay or vegan to enjoy it. (Although you may emerge with increased respect for graphic novels and the Herculean amount of work that goes into creating them.)

I am no longer vegan but I love listening to queer, Covid conscious vegans review food. I also think the Sagittarian matters/Lanyadoo duo is the most epic constellation of awesomeness so far in 2023
Thank you for sharing about bad art friend. I had a friend that gave one of her kidneys to our pastor’s son. And it is a big deal. It has been over a year since she gave it to him and she still has pain at the surgery site. They even had to go back in to remove scar tissue that was causing problems. This story is just so sad that people can be this way to each other.

Queer, feminist, vegan-centered conversations mix with artsy storytelling and sharp pop culture commentary. Episodes frequently dissect reality TV through critical lenses—gender, race, and identity—while weaving in personal anecdotes, indie art, and vegan dining experiences. A standout is the host's warm, witty interview style paired with guests ranging from artists and scholars to creators promoting candles or books, often blending humor with insightful critique. The show's unique charm comes from a candid, community-focused vibe (and a dog co-host) that makes complex topics approachable and entertaining for listeners who crave thoughtful culture, art, and lifestyle conversations.
