This reminds me about good form, provides specific benchmarks to hit in terms of stroke rate and customized splits, and helps the time go by during a tough and effective workout. But after awhile you get hooked on John himself. He’s such a kind person. His going on about rowing can be a comfort on difficult days. He also gives good life lesson reminders and explains why the old truisms are important. Don’t compare yourself with others, etc. I love this podcast and it’s made me a better erg-er!
Rejoined a gym as loosing motivation on the road bike. Started to row and had even less motivation. Found this podcast and have enjoyed the last 4/ 52 of exercise. A consistent prompt with coaching tips on form. Detailed and expertly explained structured work outs. Excellent conversational voice with non sequiturs that add to passing the time. Thank you. Will keep on rowing
I love the show’s inherent quirkiness. The entertainment value complements, doesn’t retract from, the intensity of the workouts. I especially appreciate the reminders to keep good form, something I desperately need when I get fatigued.
Great podcast, turn up to gym, no need to think about what to do, just press play and you are guided through an awesome workout. Nice voice to listen to and creative way of coaching, especially enjoyed the rowing through the caves story!
