  • Can you animate our parable… for free?

I find it pretty ironic that after a relevant and powerful story of sticking up for yourself as a creative and believing in your own value that they “offered” their audience a chance to create an animated version that they would “showcase”, aka: work for free. C’mon, my dudes.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

From Solo to Scale with Matt Cornelison
Q: What was a pivotal moment that signaled it was time to move from production to agency-level thinking?
The pivotal shift came when he stopped waiting for a predefined brief and started proposing a holistic campaign approach, including messaging, cross-channel video, and a tailored client-specific strategy, often with the client's team involved and buy-in gained through demonstrated value.
From Solo to Scale with Matt Cornelison
Q: Give us a brief rundown of the history of those steps from solopreneur to agency and when you recognized each step.
Matt describes starting as a solo video guy in Chicago, leveraging long-term client relationships, gradually winding down a previous team to focus on core strengths, and then intentionally expanding into agency work by connecting dots, creating campaigns, and using a structured approach to messaging and stakeholder alignment.
Unblinding Creativity with Radim Malinic
Q: How do you define your current daring creativity and how does it influence your work?
Daring creativity is about starting the things you would regret not starting, leveraging minimal tools, and building toward bigger outcomes by turning bold ideas into actionable projects.
The Ask & The Sale with Drew Norton
Q: First of all, do you have a better sense or a better definition of what that ask is? How do you recognize the ask and then know how to present it?
Discoveries-driven discovery is key; qualify first, then invite only when the client has admitted to a real need, and present a simple, clear invitation for next steps.
Storytelling and Spirit-telling with Jane Morgan
Q: What was the moment that led to Skycar's birth and how did the initial client influence that decision?
A former client suggested the possibility of starting a company and promised ongoing work, which gave Jane and Erin confidence to launch Skycar while remaining respectful to their previous employer and clients.
