Q: Did you have any apprehension at the time in getting started?
Gilbert explains he had some skepticism from family and feared giving up half of profits, but he trusted the mentor and believed the potential upside justified the risk, especially given his wife's support and his desire for financial and time freedom.

Having a mentor provided a clear steps map, reduced roadblocks, and accelerated learning, making the process feel faster and more certain than going it alone.

It was a kitchen-table negotiation that led to a subject-to deal, where we cashed out the seller's equity and took over the mortgage, with a profit margin that proved the model could work and be scalable.
