  • Awesome Pod!

I listened to Episode 68 “Why are some people more motivated than others?” and resonated with the different mentalities that one goes through in College. The episode was very insightful and Jacob does a great job as a moderator!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#176 Peter Nelson: Founder of SISU Sauna & 33x Ultramarathon Runner
Q: So I'm curious, like, you know, a lot of my listeners are younger, they're interested in entrepreneurship, they already own a business. And, you know, how do you, this idea of balance, you know, I don't know that balance actually exists. I prefer this idea of work-life integration. How do you make all of these things co-exist in a cohesive manner?
Balance needs to be viewed as a swinging pendulum; you're pouring into different areas at different times. My five main focuses are faith, family, fitness, work, and finance, all needing protection and attention but not perfectly balanced at all times.
#154 Kip Fulks: Co-Founder of Under Armour
Q: What advice would you offer to your 23-year-old self?
Don't believe the stories in your head; most people are in their own way.
#154 Kip Fulks: Co-Founder of Under Armour
Q: What did you learn about yourself through this process?
You can do anything, as long as you stop caring about success and are willing to embrace failure.
#168 Rob Gerlach: 10 Traits of History's Greatest Entrepreneurs
Q: What advice would you offer to your 24-year-old self?
Point out the importance of a long-term vision, reminding that you don't have to do all your living by a certain age.
#160 Life Update / Q&A: Mental Edge, Endurance, & Balancing Relationships (Ft. Jon Peterson)
Q: How have you been balancing work, life, business and having a relationship?
Balancing life involves pouring into different 'buckets' as needed while being aware of trade-offs and maintaining personal well-being.
