Each episode dives into practical strategies while also tackling the bigger picture of leadership, growth, and building a values-driven company. I recently had the privilege of being a guest on the show, and the experience gave me an even deeper appreciation for how intentional the conversations are. Will has a real gift for asking the right questions and drawing out lessons that anyone can a... more

  • Great for testimonials for APB, weak on content.

As a custom home builder I follow and have been listening to several podcasts from different coaching organizations and builder focused podcasts. As a builder I’ve learned a lot from podcasts, Matt Risinger, and many others and had high hopes for this podcast. In the last few months I met with coaches from several orga... more

  • Excellent Content! Looking forward to the new episodes

This podcast has great dialogue that would benefit anyone navigating the mysteries of a small to medium size startup. There are little nuggets throughout each episode and I would recommend this for not only my builder friends but any entrepreneur. Well done!

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

242. The Builders Distraction Tax With Maura Thomas
Q: Can you give me a little background on your work and why attention matters?
Maura explains her long trajectory in productivity, her shift from time management to attention management, and how attention has become the core scarce resource in the modern workplace.
244. New Builds, New Opportunities With Harry Pontikis
Q: What is the opportunity for builders given the budget changes and the shift toward new builds?
The guests discuss that the government's push for new properties creates demand for builders who can work with investors on multi-unit projects; success will come from positioning for property investors, partnering with brokers and architects, and advertising toward the investor market so builders can win more multi-home sites.
244. New Builds, New Opportunities With Harry Pontikis
Q: Talk to me about your company, Chocolate Money, and how you got into this.
Harry explains Chocolate Money was founded to focus on the people behind the money—emphasizing relationships and a positive experience with lenders. They position themselves as builders' partners, aiming to remove the sour experience of dealing with lenders by delivering smooth, focused support and long-tenured team members.
240. Beyond The Bare Minimum With Jessica Kismet
Q: So from a builder's perspective, what's the first step to incorporating this into their business?
Start with airtightness testing as a foundational learning, align the team early, and ensure architects, builders, and trades understand why the membrane and detailing choices matter, so collaboration is established from the outset.
238. Great Work Isn't Enough With Carl Edwards and Annameika Curtis
Q: Carl, how have margins changed as you invested in marketing and built a more predictable pipeline?
With more marketing, we could be selective about the projects we pursue and maintain higher margins, instead of taking any job just to keep things moving.
