  • Not working

This show is not working on my device on iOS 18. Furthermore, I don't see why I should use the latest software update in order to listen to a podcast! Very disappointing!

  • The Best?

I understand experts selling themselves as “ The best music and post production tips, tricks and news on the web,”

At best they’re another voice in the crowd. The podcast looks abandoned as they use to update weekly.

The were some pretty “weak tea” episodes especially on things that “impressed” when they spoke authoritatively on items they neither owned or tried… well anybody including “non experts” can do that… I’ve grown tired of these experts and have moved on, I invite you to do the same.

  • Great Podcast

But....when they do have women on they barley let them talk. They'll ask her a question and before she's done answering the men cut her off and go on their own rambles.

At first I didn't think much of it. Until I noticed it happening on many many episodes.

I recommend asking your lady colleagues what they think.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Smash Hit- Recording Adele's 'Hello' & Tony Visconti/Toontrack's 'Drumopolis' at Metropolis.
Q: How could you give us a mindset tip then about approaching DAWs with an analog mindset?
The discussion highlights that the vibe and the human element are more important than staring at a screen; using analog discipline in a DAW involves limiting options, focusing on performance, and evaluating sounds by listening rather than watching the waveform.
Smash Hit- Recording Adele's 'Hello' & Tony Visconti/Toontrack's 'Drumopolis' at Metropolis.
Q: Am I correct in thinking that you actually only use tape to record?
The guest explains that tape is not the main workflow; Pro Tools dominates, but tape nostalgia remains for some projects, and there is a sense that tape can impart a certain sound and feel that some engineers still value.
Smash Hit- Recording Adele's 'Hello' & Tony Visconti/Toontrack's 'Drumopolis' at Metropolis.
Q: Tell us about Adele then. How did, what was she like? Did she, how many takes? Did she do a lot of takes?
Liam explains Adele was lovely and focused; the process was largely guided by Greg Kirsten in the laptop, and Adele delivered solid performances with a hands-off approach from the engineer, while the core vocal setup was established with a classic chain, later refined in the mix.
