  • The Best?

I understand experts selling themselves as “ The best music and post production tips, tricks and news on the web,”

At best they’re another voice in the crowd. The podcast looks abandoned as they use to update weekly.

The were some pretty “weak tea” episodes especially on things that “impressed” when they spoke authoritatively on items they neither owned or tried… well anybody including “non experts” can do that… I’ve grown tired of these experts and have moved on, I invite you to do the same.

  • Great Podcast

But....when they do have women on they barley let them talk. They'll ask her a question and before she's done answering the men cut her off and go on their own rambles.

At first I didn't think much of it. Until I noticed it happening on many many episodes.

I recommend asking your lady colleagues what they think.

Again! I absolutely love Production Experts podcast!

I have learned so much from Julian and friends through these shows. It’s like hanging in the room as everyone tosses productive conversation/fixes/Tricks as well as entertaining content.

The interview with Andy Munro is excellent. It has completely changed the way I think about acoustic treatment.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Let's Get Immersed: With Justin Gray
Q: So are there certain instruments that you find yourself laying down first, as, you know, a kind of bed before you get other musicians involved?
With this album, I composed a significant amount in advance because of practicality. I often start with improvising on one of my main instruments, then I take the recordings to Pro Tools to edit down to the essence before scoring.
Let's Get Immersed: With Justin Gray
Q: In terms of the inspiration for the album, I was really interested in listening to your videos, and I haven't yet come across until I heard what you were saying, the concept of picturing the immersive layout as you write the parts, which I thought was really interesting. So is it a trick that you developed over time, or is it something that comes naturally?
It's always complex and very individual from a creative standpoint, but I've always had a sense of wanting to present sound in a spatial way, long before I could work physically with surround formats.
The Art Of Mixing
Q: Could you talk us through the punch, body and floor?
Christian describes how these three regions help in managing dynamics in audio effectively and intuitively.
The Art Of Mixing
Q: Can we get into a bit about the interplay between creativity and technique in mixing?
Christian emphasizes the importance of interacting directly with the creative aspects of mixing while managing the complexities of the technical side.
Podcast Interview: Neurodivergence In The Audio Industry
Q: What do you think about the idea that a lot of people will say, oh well, ADHD is a superpower?
Alex expresses that while there are positives, many do struggle, and the superpower notion oversimplifies the complexities of ADHD and autism.
