  • Thorough recaps please

I really enjoy this podcast. I found it through Glamorous Trash and glad I did. As my title suggests, I love the thorough recaps. Sometimes it has been a minute since my last watch and my memory needs a jog. Thank you for your insights on some of my favorite movies. I just listed to the 10 Things I Hate About You episode and I’m reminded why it’s one of my favorites.

  • Not for Me

I was really enjoying this podcast until I got to The Proposal. I don’t know how to break it to you, but republicans do watch rom-coms and they do listen to podcasts. After probably a dozen comments like “oh the dad had to be MAGA”, “we need to cancel Betty White’s character for wanting the couple to have children” and “republicans hate immigrants” kind is comments I had to turn it off and unsubscribe. I understand that a lot of people in the entertainment industry are left leaning, and I can b... more

  • One of my favorites

I would feel guilty if I binge a podcast I need everyday and don’t write a review. Podstruck is my escape. When being a housewife leaves me feeling like Repunzel locked in a tower, this is the podcast I listen to as I do mundane chores. Thanks for the fun ladies! Keep up the great work!

Four Weddings and a Funeral: The Movie That Made Hugh Grant (with Mark Vigeant)
Q: What is Mark's take on the film's handling of the wedding structure as a storytelling device?
Mark praises how the film uses multiple weddings to create a mosaic of characters and emotions, while noting the rhythm and timing are key to the comedy and warmth; he also remarks on how this setup supports a more inclusive, lived-in world.
She's The Man: Amanda Bynes Performance Art (with Monica Byrnes & Toria Sheffield)
Q: Why did you choose She's The Man for this Shakespeare collection, and what stands out about it today?
They discuss Amanda Bynes's fearless performance, the film's campy but energetic direction, and how the movie juxtaposes humor with moments of dated attitudes, making it both influential and problematic in its era.
It Happened One Night: Here Comes The Groom! (with Nick Duke)
Q: What about the title "It Happened One Night"? Does it reflect the film accurately?
Nick jokes that it should be called 'It Happened Over the Course of a Frigging Week' because the timeline of the events doesn't align with the title.
It Happened One Night: Here Comes The Groom! (with Nick Duke)
Q: What is your relationship to rom-coms as a genre? Is this a genre that you were in love with before you started having to listen to our episodes?
Nick shares that his introduction to rom-coms was through his dad, who was a fan of early rom-coms and musicals, and while he enjoys them, he wonders how he feels after listening to all the episodes on the genre.
The Apartment: Every Genre All At Once (with Dana Gould)
Q: Dana, what is your relationship to rom-coms? Do you have a favorite rom-com?
I don't really adhere to the genre much, but I do love 'Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter' which has a romantic comedy at its heart.
