Thanks so much for making this show! My wife is a rom-com veteran and I’m newer to the genre so it’s been fun to go through the classics along with you. It’s become an important part of our Friday night routine and we usually end up just watching the movie you cover for good measure. We usually go off on our own tangents and have to pause though, so we admittedly don’t finish every episode. Maybe someday we’ll find out how She’s The Man ends...
These two ladies are ka-razy. I’m dumbstruck by how unique their takes are and how hilarious their chemistry is. Highest possible recommendation. Only note: use the husbands as guests regularly.
As much as I ADORE the girls night vibes, when the Johns are on I have tears in my eyes! There’s something so sweet hearing couples talk about romcoms together. I also love when y’all don’t agree on the movies 😂 Y’all’s chemistry together is undeniable!
I started listening to this podcast after Elena and Chelsea guested on What Went Wrong. I feel like my girlfriends and I would talk about movies like this. 😊
I really enjoy this podcast. I found it through Glamorous Trash and glad I did. As my title suggests, I love the thorough recaps. Sometimes it has been a minute since my last watch and my memory needs a jog. Thank you for your insights on some of my favorite movies. I just listed to the 10 Things I Hate About You episode and I’m reminded why it’s one of my favorites.

A witty, genre-focused show where two veteran comedy writers revisit rom-com classics through a modern lens, unpackting gender dynamics, cultural context, and the genre's evolving tropes. Episodes blend sharp analysis with personal anecdotes, guest insights, and a playful banter that keeps conversations fresh—from sharp critiques of problematic jokes to celebrations of film craft and performance. A standout is the strong emphasis on female-centered storytelling and the way guests—from screenwriters to actors—weigh in on representation, craft, and industry realities. This mix makes it a compelling pick for listeners who love rom-coms, want thoughtful critique, and enjoy banter between two close collaborators with deep industry roots.
