  • Great video gaming podcast

I've been listening to many video games podcast the last several year and have been listening to this one for a long time also. Both Jordan and Addison are great. Their love of video games and Nintendo comes through as genuine. Their friendship is also great. Not a big deal, but their voices are great also. Many popcasts I've listen to - their voices are not smooth. Keep up the good work. Thanks.

  • The best portable game podcast for your dad, recorded in a snowstorm, to put in your ears!

Cool and good video game discourse has led to me being in the market for a new game podcast. Lucky for me that I found this show where Jordan and Addison talk about games I'm actually into. Please give it a shot!

Also while listening I got an 8% drop for some armor I needed in Monster Hunter. What I'm saying here is this show changed my life

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Pocketoid 226: Monster Hunter Wilds, Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, Wanderstop, and MORE!!
Q: What are your predictions for the Switch 2 reveal?
They expect a blowout focusing on Metroid Prime 4, a new 3D Mario, and a lot of attention to Zelda's future, withPokemon and Animal Crossing getting notable updates or remasters around the launch window.
Pocketoid 230: Nintendo Switch 2, Mario Kart World, Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, and MORE!!
Q: What would you list as a dream frame-rate or mouse-control update for games on Switch 2?
A lot of classic PC-oriented or mouse-centric titles would benefit from mouse support, and patches to enable 60fps or 120fps where feasible would dramatically improve the experience; many older Switch games would feel like new with that kind of update.
Pocketoid 230: Nintendo Switch 2, Mario Kart World, Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, and MORE!!
Q: Brains, how's the battery treating you?
The battery is a bit rough, especially on high-performance games, but it lasts long enough on handheld with brightness adjustments, and it charges quickly, which helps.
Pocketoid 246: Romeo is a Dead Man, Pragmata and Monster Hunter Stories 3 demos, and MORE!!
Q: If you had to pick one handheld from the current released ones, which would you pick?
The hosts converge on Steam Deck OLED or Switch 2 depending on whether modern games or Nintendo exclusives are the priority, with a stronger leaning toward Steam Deck for emulation and flexibility and toward Switch 2 for first-party games, but emphasize budget, portability, and use-case as deciding factors.
Pocketoid 232: Donkey Kong Bananza, Promise Mascot Agency, Vividlope, and MORE!!
Q: Would you want a Donkey Kong Galaxy or a cross-franchise Mario Donkey Kong game?
Yes, a Donkey Kong Galaxy-style concept with world-building and planetary exploration sounds awesome, and a Mario vs. Donkey Kong crossover with co-op modes could be a transformative, highly playable idea for fans.
