Couch Carrie is one of those people I wish I’d had access too earlier in life. If you are unsure of yourself or your abilities after living in a perfectionist-driven world, this podcast is for you. Couch Carrie has a way of making you think about yourself and your goals from a different angle, and helps you get up and go despite those little human niggling feelings telling you that being an athlete is a zero sum game. Love it!
I love this podcast - it deals with the physical aspects of being a running, like training for particular events, and also with the psychological aspects like self-doubt, fear of failure, worry about being good enough, staying motivated. For lots of us, running isn’t just about getting out the door and getting moving - it’s also about overcoming anxieties about being seen out and about running, not being as fast as we think we should be, whether we’re ‘proper’... more
If you’re interested in personal development and growth in sports, the Plucky not Perfect podcast is just what you need. It’s all about STARTING and TRYING wherever you are. Forget being perfect! Coach Carrie provides training tips and mindset strategies to keep you moving ahead. Her chats with runners are fun and inspirational.
Simple, clear, actionable ideas for recognizing and understanding negative thoughts, with input on how to adapt and manage for positive benefits. I am not a runner, but can use this information in other scenarios. Yes! Be plucky in life! If you’re living, you’ll be able to apply these gems of inspiration.
I have always wanted to be a runner but I couldn’t get past being a “newbie”. I would go on one run, judge myself for being too slow, and not good at it. Eventually, I decided I wasn’t a runner. Listening to Carries podcast gave me the confidence and courage to give it another try and this time with a new perspective. And I’m enjoying it! Slow is a pace and if you run, you’re a runner are my new running mantras. Thank you Carrie!
