This is a great podcast. If you’re like me, then you also have struggled with an addiction to collecting porcelain kittens. I was so embarrassed, and I didn’t know where to turn, but this podcast has really set my life in a new, positive direction. I really appreciate how the show brings on guests from different walks of life who have also felt the pain of a porcelain kitten addiction. There is hope, and this podcast reminds us all of that. You’re doing the lord’s work.
Pixeltunes has a lot to like, but it's not for everyone. Your enjoyment will depend on whether you like video game music, whether you like the hosts' sense of humor, and whether you like their banter. I love video game music. I used to be iffy on their banter, but they’ve really improved in the last year.... especially when it comes to stating their opinions on tracks they don’t both like. I can't play the show when my kids are around, due to the lowbrow content. But they’re usually at least s... more
Mike and Ed take their craft to another level. The depth of VGM knowledge and passion is unrivaled. Anyone who is even a casual fan of VGM will love this podcast.
Preposterously pleasing, perfect picks of predominantly the pixel persuasion!
Love getting new episodes! High quality knowledge and banter.
The music, mixed with the discussion about the game, make this a must listen every week. Mike and Ed are the ultimate Podcast duo. Keep it up fellas!!
PTR provides an insightful look at video game music every other week with a unique theme in most cases, along with some free pick episodes peppered throughout. The range of consoles these two go into when choosing music is astounding as there's tons of variety in terms of genres of vgm new and old. Their humor is pretty goofy, more on the pg to pg13 references, with most jokes featuring innuendos that would go right over most kids ears beyond the first episode. The earlier episodes, particularly... more
So fun to listen to pixel tunes radio. These guys got a lot of insight in VGM and present it in a great way, mixed with skits and interviews etc. It's nice to hear other stuff than just the mega mans, final fantasys and zeldas. Keep it up guys!
If you’re looking for a VGM podcast that teaches and entertains all in one. This is where to find it. Mike and Ed put on an amazing 2 hours worth of content filled with great video game music, facts and info pertaining to each song, fun banter and skits, and a genuine love for the topic. They have a great chemistry and even when they don’t agree, it doesn’t devolve into a fight, you actually come away from it with a better perspective overall on these tracks/games that you may not have had befor... more
My Favorite videogame music podcast. Mike and Ed are great guys and know how to pick great tracks. Keep up the great work guys.
These guys know their stuff and are fun to listen to when they talk about music and musicians. I'm not as much a fan of the skits, honestly, but I like everything else about the show.
As the title implies, I want to listen to music and maybe alittle about the song. Not interested in guys getting lost down multiple rabbit trails.
This podcast is so good it make installing Apple software that wants my best friend's name from high school, my credit card info, and my phone number all worth it just to let the world know they should be checking this out. I really hope it helps.
I love PixelTunes. This podcast has gone with me back and forth from college all year, and I really love this show! I've never been bored, I love the commercials, and Mike and Ed are THE reason why podcasts are always better with co-hosts. Always good feelings when I play your show. Not only great music, but I love when you all share stories of how you experienced the games. It feels like it did when my friends and I would talk about games in school, and that brings back some good times. Keep it... more
They are definitely high-level. Maybe 18 or 19. They give you so many tunes, and so many memories. They are funny! They are good!
