A questão é que as famílias "notáveis" têm provavelmente registos da sua descendência e geralmente essa é a que conta, porque o resto são bastardos indesejáveis e esquecidos deliberadamente. Tenho uma amiga que me mostrou a sua descendência de Fátima, mulher de Maomé e, a não ser que Fátima tenha traído o marido, essa minha amiga será descendente do profeta. Claro que provavelmente também todos nós, mas não existem os tais registos numa linha de descendência "notável"

Já o devo ter lido umas 500 000 vezes e, quando quero fugir para aquele universo rural de que (eu, urbano relapso) tive apenas uns vislumbres quando era miúdo, é à "Civilização" que regresso... O meu primeiro livro de Eça, foi exactamente "Contos", mas o meu primeiríssimo encontro foi ou vir o meu professor de português recitar/declamar " O Suave Milagre".
Tinha eu dez anos.
