  • Nick is the real deal.

Being a guest on Grief Is Not a Dirty Word with Nick was such a meaningful experience. Nick creates a space where grief is met with honesty, compassion, and zero judgment and you can feel that from the very first moment of the conversation. It’s rare to find a platform where you can show up fully, speak openly about loss, and trust that your story will be held with such care and respect. I’m so grateful to have been part of it and to contribute to a conversation that matters this much.

  • Powerful and Needed

I just discovered this podcast today and listened to the milestone journey episode. Wow. Having been through so much grief myself this just resonated so strongly. If you’re dealing with grief of any kind, give this podcast a listen. Listen to the milestone one first if you like, it’s not too long. And then look for one that the title fits what you’re going through. I think this will really serve you.

Q: What is the one thing that you hope people carry with them after hearing this conversation today?

The Grieving Child Everyone Missed: Violent Loss, Trauma and Hope with Susan Snow (Part 1) - Episode 94
Q: Let's jump a little bit ahead. What do you remember about the last conversation that you had with your dad that morning?
She recalls him being nervous about his courtroom tie in a case he led, him saying no to a party because it was a school night, and the sequence of dropping her at school and the plan for him to pick up her brother later that day, followed by the shocking news of his death when she learned from a call at her brother's school.
The Grieving Child Everyone Missed: Violent Loss, Trauma and Hope with Susan Snow (Part 1) - Episode 94
Q: But before we talk about how your dad died, I want people to understand who he was and what he meant to you. So my first question is, who was your father when he was not Detective Thomas Williams?
Susan reflects on her father as a present, caring, and supportive figure who was like a best friend and constant in her life, describing memorable moments like fishing trips and everyday conversations that felt safe and loved.
The Grief of Letting Go: Toxic Family Loss, Boundaries and Healing with Susan Snow Part 2 - Episode 95
Q: What truth about your mom did you know you could no longer leave out of your story?
That she had a narcissistic personality and that you cannot change that, so the memoir would focus on the healing process rather than vilifying her.
