Wow, finally someone who can teach the differences between collectivist movements. Most importantly, Philosophy docet. Political systems come from there.
A pleasure to listen, every word a delight. The world doesn't deserve Stephen Hicks but that doesn't mean you shouldn't listen.
He starts from common-place topics and explores them deeply, getting to profound philosophical issues that are worthy of anyone's time and attention.
In the process, he gets to the foundational principles in a very clear and understandable way, being at the same time very precise and well-sourced in his observations and analysis.
While being close to Enlightenment ideas, in every topic he is balanced in his presentation of the underlying opposition and of the arguments from both sides.
I love the way Hicks sets out both sides of the argument, sometimes more than two sides, which is the only productive way to start thinking seriously about an issue for me.
