  • Waste of time

When their not talking and enjoying irrelevant bull, they’re pivoting every talking point to “why aren’t Dems doing anything about it”. Zero discussion of the obstruction of the GOP in congress, or the outright cowardice of the GOP to call out the rampant lying, or the rampant voter supression.. Every discussion begins and ends with what is wrong with the Dems. This is an annoying waste of time.

  • Pure Right Wing Propaganda

Actually, zero stars. I enjoy listening to intelligent an broad political views, but this is pure right wing propaganda based on unsubstantiated opinions and falsehoods. There is no fact-checking. I can find this on Fox News, but I choose not to go there for this reason.

The Problem That Could Break America...And Why You're Not Hearing the Truth
Q: What do you see as the realistic path to solvency without breaking the economy?
A multifactorial approach is required, combining adjustments to spending (including entitlements) and revenue (including targeted tax reforms and closing loopholes) with an honest acknowledgment of trade-offs, rather than chasing a single 'silver bullet.'
The Problem That Could Break America...And Why You're Not Hearing the Truth
Q: Why can't you simply tax the rich to solve the deficit, and what about the idea of abolishing the Social Security cap?
Taxing the rich alone can't close the long-term gap; even taxing at or near 100% wouldn't be sufficient. Eliminating the Social Security cap would delay deficits for only about four years and would raise the marginal tax rate for high earners, potentially reducing incentives to work and undermining revenue growth elsewhere.
The Problem That Could Break America...And Why You're Not Hearing the Truth
Q: What is the dominant driver of the long-term deficit, and why isn't it just about immediate spending cuts?
The dominant driver is the actuarial shortfalls in Social Security and Medicare, driven by demographics and program formulas. Payroll taxes and premiums don't cover the benefits, and large general revenue transfers are required, making this a long-term structural issue rather than a matter of one-off spending cuts.
Can Truth Still Win? Glenn Kessler on Trump, Media, and Political Lies
Q: Can truth still win in politics, and what keeps you going on substack?
Yes, history shows truth can win in the long run; staying persistent and continuing to document and analyze lies helps counteract short-term narratives and maintain accountability.
Can Truth Still Win? Glenn Kessler on Trump, Media, and Political Lies
Q: How has the Pinocchio system evolved, and is there a risk it reduces perceived severity of lies?
The Pinocchio system was designed to categorize false statements; over time it expanded to include a bottomless Pinocchio for repeated falsehoods, which helps maintain seriousness but risks normalizing ongoing deception if not applied consistently.
