Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

107. Creating a Culture of Sending - Network Life, Ep. 4
Q: What have you learned about releasing leaders—has releasing too early ever backfired, and how has that shaped your approach?
Releasing early can backfire due to misreading readiness; confidence grows when a leader has demonstrated gifts and a stable heart. The approach now is more supportive oversight early on, followed by gradual release as trust and capabilities build.
107. Creating a Culture of Sending - Network Life, Ep. 4
Q: How do you assess readiness in someone who might lead a Microchurch and prepare them relationally and spiritually?
Readiness is evaluated through life fruits, character, and whether they're ready to invite others. They undergo supportive coaching, gifts discovery, and a school of ministry for deeper Bible study, with mentors ensuring ongoing formation.
102. How Do Kids Experience Microchurch Life? - Microchurch Life Ep. 5
Q: When did microchurch life stop being your parents' thing and become your own?
For me, it started when youth group began and I got invited to participate; it became my thing when I helped lead and then started programs with peers, driven by my own encounter with Jesus.
102. How Do Kids Experience Microchurch Life? - Microchurch Life Ep. 5
Q: What would you tell listening parents who are trying to explain microchurch life to their kids?
Don't force it. Give kids agency, explain sacrifices when they happen, and invite them into the journey rather than prescriptively turning it into a box to check; focus on relationship with Jesus and let the calling unfold rather than being imposed.
97. Creating a Culture of Welcome - Microchurch Life Ep. 2
Q: How have you intentionally created a culture of welcome within your microchurch?
We've had honest conversations about hospitality and involved the community in welcoming newcomers through small gestures and shared responsibilities.
