  • I Listened

Ok Carey, I listened to the whole Carl Lentz ep. It was abhorrent. No talk of refuge and restoration in Christ. Just a self defense barrage and complaint fest about people bailing. Not one ounce of humility or repentance.

A Divorced woman lecturing on church leadership while talking about women working around God’s design for the local church. This is contributing to the breakdown of healthy church culture. We should be calling women back to God, repentance, and accountability-not to platform.

  • Consistently the most influential podcast I listened to!

It’s hard to articulate how grateful I am for this podcast. I’m not a leader by trade, nor am I vocational ministry, so I always find it kind of funny how much I value this podcast as it’s not exactly made with me in mind. That’s sad, after six years of it consistently being my go to listen, I can easily see how it has had the most positive influence of any content I consume. Whether it’s the series on revival igniting my excitement and passion for all that God is doing in the next generation an... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

CNLP 799 | Christine Caine: The Real Reasons Women Are Done With Church
Q: How does Christine connect personal pruning with long-term flourishing?
She explains pruning as a recurring process that removes unfruitful areas while refining character and leadership, leading to a stronger, more fruitful ministry later in life.
CNLP 799 | Christine Caine: The Real Reasons Women Are Done With Church
Q: Why does she argue for a broader view of women's gifts beyond traditional titles?
She argues that gifts like hospitality, leadership, and influence in the marketplace are all valid ministry avenues; churches should equip and valorize women across diverse contexts rather than confining them to specific roles.
CNLP 799 | Christine Caine: The Real Reasons Women Are Done With Church
Q: What are some of the obstacles Christine has faced as a female preacher and leader?
Christine describes early barriers from sexism, limited visibility, and leadership gaps, but emphasizes perseverance, grace, and the Holy Spirit's leadership over human frailty, which allowed her to continue advancing in ministry.
CNLP 800 | Women in Ministry: Preston Sprinkle on What the Bible Actually Says
Q: How do you interpret 1 Timothy 2 in light of the broader biblical narrative?
He argues that a careful exegesis of the Greek term and its usage, plus the broader canonical progress, suggests that restricting women from any leadership role is not the necessary conclusion, and that the passage should be understood within its cultural and linguistic context rather than as a universal prohibition.
CNLP 797 | Why You Shouldn't Chase Your Passion: Bill Gurley on the Delusional Factor Every Outlier Needs and How to Find a Mentor
Q: What do you recommend instead of chasing passion, and why?
Chase your curiosity and commit to continuous learning; find topics so engaging you study them in your spare time, which signals a sustainable path and flow state that leads to exceptional performance.
