  • A weekly North Star

This podcast should be a go-to for anyone - particularly, those who seek to intentionally apply Christ’s teachings and deepen their spiritual awareness. I am an Orthodox Christian and an LPC, and the messages that the Louhs share provide much-needed inspiration to embrace my spiritual journey and my work in helping others grow and heal. Anyone and everyone can benefit from this podcast; however, if you are a Christian in the field of mental health, this podcast is integral.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

An Interactive Q&A Experience with the Louhs
Q: How can 1 Corinthians 13 help those who are codependent in a relationship?
Love should have healthy boundaries; compassion should not erase boundaries. Encourage self-responsibility, set clear limits, and seek joint spiritual and pastoral support to grow together without losing individual well-being.
An Interactive Q&A Experience with the Louhs
Q: Suggestions for people that want to participate in confession, but struggle with trauma?
Trauma requires parallel counseling and spiritual guidance; start with meeting your priest to discuss fears, create a safe plan, and gradually build trust and vulnerability for confession.
An Interactive Q&A Experience with the Louhs
Q: Why is love described so much here through behaviors rather than feelings?
The hosts explain that feelings are unstable and unreliable, whereas love grounded in consistent benevolent behaviors can transform feelings over time and embody Christ in daily actions.
Love is Steady, Not Reactive
Q: If you grew up in a household that didn't allow anger, how do you start learning to experience anger in conversations with others?
It's essential to have self-compassion and to notice the feeling of anger in your body. Understand that anger is often functional and serves a purpose.
Faith that Endures
Q: Can negative memories affect your attempts to serve the Lord?
Yes, they can surface and derail your attempts if not processed properly, but they can also teach you valuable lessons about trust, prayer, and your relationship with God.
