  • Interesting but marred

These talks have interesting material in them—and because of that I give them 4 stars—but they are marred by the hosts’ continual silly and unmanly sniggering and giggling. Fr Stephen is the worst offender here. I don’t know the cause of it: I suspect it’s a nervous habit, connected with how he thinks what he says will be taken. • Love the show!

Came from Whole Council of God where fr Stephen seems so rigid, tense. Fr Andrew seems to soften him in a way that’s really nice. Great show, have learned so much that has shaped my worldview. God bless you

  • Amazing theology made accessible to everyone

I am a Protestant and found my way to this Podcast through Dr Mike Heiser’s work and fellow fans. LOS came repeatedly recommended by many of us those who learned from DMH that the Bible was a lot deeper than Sunday school could ever show.

This show, Fathers, and Eastern Orthodox faith has been extremely eye opening. I love both Father Stephen’s dry humor and Father Andrew’s upbeat dialogue. This show has open a different path on my theological journey, and I truly believe everyone who has the ... more

It emphasizes that baptism is the starting point of this journey, which involves constant participation in the life of Christ as we face daily sin and challenges.

Pantheon and Pandemonium XIV: Asynchronous Q&A Dec 2024
Q: Should we use the pronouns 'we' and 'us' when talking about the history of Israel?

Pantheon and Pandemonium XIV: Asynchronous Q&A Dec 2024
Q: Why are laity allowed to offer incense in the Orthodox Church when priests have specific sacrificial roles?
The practice of laity offering incense is a common devotional practice, but it's distinct from the sacramental role of priests. While incense is significant in worship, its burning by laity does not equate to a sacrificial act.
