So smart. So enjoyable. Michelle is a delight. And I’m learning so much. Highly recommended.
Michelle is a joy to listen to... I love the insight into history and there plenty of bits of humor throughout . Great Podcast!
I’ve listened to this entire series and every episode has several (h)aha! moments. I’m always spouting off some obscure fact I learned on kitchen gods. Michelle’s a great host, the camaraderie and banter with her guests makes you feel like your sitting at the table with a group of friends for an easy chat. Fun for kids also. A great episode to start with is the one about ramen soup, so unexpected! I highly recommend this podcast for a road trip with the family or a day working from home.
I love the Kitchen Gods podcast with Michelle Doll and Ken Herskovitz! Michelle is a super engaging chef and story teller, while Ken stands in as our Everyman following the threads and making excited pronouncements when he has unraveled who the subject of the show is each week. Michelle also manages to weaves an intricate arrangement of social awareness and great historic figures into the narrative. Keep up the great work and we will keep listening!
I love the surprising historical background to so many of the things we take for granted from clean milk to Colonel Sanders to muckrakers to tacos. If you like to eat and have a curious mind this podcast is for you.
I love Michelle’s deep dives! They give us a well rounded picture of historical figures whose techniques and practices influence my cooking today. - NadineN
I have her cookbooks and I’ve seen her beat Bobby Flay in his smackdown show but I still didn’t know I’d love this podcast that much.
Michelle shares stories about culinary pioneers who have changed the food landscape of the world. Her tales are always super well researched, interesting, and entertaining. Also, Ken is there. I love that I can put one on when I leave home, and it finishes right as I pull into the parking lot at work. Well, unless I get caught behind a garbage truck. Then I usually have enough time to listen to Toto’s Africa before I reach work. I guess what I’m trying to say is it’s the perfect podcast for your... more
Michelle’s compelling stories are so much fun to listen too. These chef’s are truly inspirational and it’s a great look into the past.
Chef Michelle has a unique story telling style. Her calm and persuasive voice keeps you listening to every word of her historical journey into the culinary world. Her stylish sense of humour is just the topper ( " whipped cream ") to the pod cast leaving you want more.
Utterly enjoyable.
