先日開催したフォトウォークとフィルム現像ワークショップ。デジタルカメラで参加した方にも現像工程を見てもらう中で、改めて感じたのが、フィルムとデジタルは単純な性能だけで比べるものではないということでした。

第17回のテーマは、「写真を展示する」ということ。
今回は、7月8日から12日まで小樽市立美術館で開催されたグループ展に参加してきた話をしました。
自分の写真をプリントして、人に見てもらう。
今まで写真を撮ったり、プリントしたりはしてきましたが、展示として出すのは今回が初めてでした。
今回は知人の暗室をお借りして、自分のネガから銀塩プリントを制作。
フォトグラムやベタ焼きを応用したような、少しアナログ写真らしい見せ方にも挑戦しました。

今回は休日を利用して、洞爺湖へ大判カメラを持って撮影に出かけました。
撮影の様子を交えながら、
「なぜ今でもフィルムカメラを使うのか」
「なぜ手間のかかる大判カメラで撮るのか」
そんなことをお話ししています。

第15回のテーマは、中古カメラ屋が考える「引き継ぐ」ということ。
今回は少しカメラから離れて、車を買い替えた話から始まります。
長く乗っていたミニクーパーから、ルノー・カングーへ。
前のオーナーさんが大切に整備してきた記録が残っている中古車を迎えたことで、中古カメラにも通じる大切なことを改めて感じました。

札幌の中古カメラ屋「インヘリットカメラ」です。
今回は、お客様と一緒に上川郡東川町の暗室へ行ってきました。
東川町は「写真の町」としても知られる場所。
町が所有する暗室を、東川暗室プロジェクト「Develo.」が管理・運営し、月に一度の暗室開放日などを行っています。

本屋大賞を受賞した話題作ですが、私が心を動かされたのは主人公の成瀬ではなく、幼馴染の島崎でした。
北海道のフィルム文化が続くなら、その担い手は私じゃなくてもいい。
