Great podcast with some real insight into how the supported internship programme is configured and how the young people develop as a result of their learning. What has stayed in my mind from this interview with Clare Cookson was what she said about how in education we celebrate a pass rate of 65% but there are many jobs in the “real world” which require 100% accuracy. Food for thought! I’m looking forward to part 2.
Thanks Deborah for all your hard work to create a great podcast. It was just what I was looking for as I help my son with ASD/ ADHD on his journey to independence as he finishes school this year. Many thanks from a fellow Aussie. Sally
I want to be a support worker so I found this podcast to help me. I had a stroke at 24 and a bleed to the spine three years later. I’ve got transferable skills as two times in rehab is a lot!!!
Thank you for sharing it’s been eye opening.
