  • Sort out the sound mixing

I’ve listened to this podcast from the beginning, but I’m starting to go off it more and more.

Initially, the amount of adverts that crept in was annoying but I appreciate they’re needed to fund something like this and keep it free for listeners.

The sound mixing though is terrible at times and the most recent podcast has been the last straw. I had to turn it up to listen to the conversation only to them be blasted with the volume of the adverts that kept coming in while I was trying to drive ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Friday Q&A: Comparison Being The Thief Of Joy with Dr Tuesday
Q: What is matrescence and how does it affect confidence after birth?
Matrescence is the brain and hormonal reconfiguration after pregnancy, akin to adolescence, which can disrupt confidence and sense of identity for up to years as systems rewire; understanding this helps normalize the struggle and encourages patience with self during transition.
Friday Q&A: Comparison Being The Thief Of Joy with Dr Tuesday
Q: What does explaining the mental load to a partner look like in real life, and who can help spread this understanding?
Start with one concrete example, unpack every layer involved (tooth brushing, shoes, school logistics), and illustrate how small tasks accumulate. Invite partners like Alex Trippier to share the dad's perspective and promote shared responsibility.
Friday Q&A: Comparison Being The Thief Of Joy with Dr Tuesday
Q: How can someone avoid losing their temper daily, and what practical steps help with emotional regulation?
Normalize losing your shit as a common human experience, then build capacity by identifying what drains your nervous system (noise, chaos, too many tasks) and what restores it (sleep, boundaries, adjusting sensory input). Develop a plan to create space between the trigger and your response.
Friday Q&A: Comparison Being The Thief Of Joy with Dr Tuesday
Q: Is bitterness from lack of family support something that can be navigated, and how would you approach it?
Bitterness signals an imbalance in support and capacity. The recommended approach is to acknowledge what you are carrying, have an honest conversation about needs, and avoid accusatory language; focus on sharing perspective and seeking practical adjustments to balance the equation.
Friday Q&A: Empowering Girls in Sport with Connor Stanbridge
Q: If you could leave our listeners with one piece of inspiring advice around the sport, what have you got in your locker, Connor?
Do your best at whatever you do; hard work and persistence can overcome talent gaps, and enjoying the process matters as much as the result.
