  • My Favorite Show

Everything I know I learned from watching The Journey Home. I heard of this show about five years ago when my Bible study teacher forgot to bring the DVD she was planning on having us watch that night in class. We watched an episode of The Journey Home instead and I knew I had to have more. I subsequently watched every episode (there are about a thousand episodes now) starting with the first. The converts taught me everything I didn’t know about the faith into which I was born. Thank you EWTN fo... more

  • Journey Home

One of my top two podcasts ever very onspiring. How so many men and women end up becoming Catholic for some reason or another. Thank you God! These stories are written with crooked lines, but God was writing with straight lines.

  • The irresistible call

I have been watching this programme for years on EWTN. Every life story, every journey is unique, yet somehow familiar. I never fail to be inspired by how the Holy Spirit works in our lives. Excellent podcast. I recommend going back to the website and watching all of the programmes from the beginning.

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Dr. Marcus Peter/Lee Sondeno - Former Pentecostals
Q: What role did the sacraments and Magisterial teaching play in your journey to Catholic faith?
Both guests describe discovering a sacramental worldview and authority in the Catholic Church that offers a fuller, consistent understanding of grace; the sacraments are experienced not only as rites but as channels of grace that complete their previous practices.
Dr. Marcus Peter/Lee Sondeno - Former Pentecostals
Q: Where did your tradition originate and how do Pentecostal groups relate to early church history?
Pentecostalism traces back to the early 20th century Azusa Street revival, aiming to restore the experiences associated with the Holy Spirit; both guests acknowledge this historical lineage while noting differences in structure and authority that exist with Catholic teaching.
Roger Maxson - Former Baptist Minister
Q: What was the pivotal moment that convinced you about Catholicism?
Seeing the Eucharist as truly present and experiencing the sense that this was Christ's body and blood in the Mass, which made the Church feel like home for my family.
Jeff Hutson - Former Pentecostal
Q: How did you think of other Christians and other denominations?
By the time I was fully immersed in the house of prayer, my worldview really was that the mainline denominations were dead and dying, and struggling because they weren't looking for the Holy Spirit.
Ken Oliver-Mendez - Former Presbyterian
Q: How did you see that question about whether Catholics are trying to work their way to heaven?
He realized the message of grace and faith in Christ is key, recognizing that faith without works is dead and that sanctification is necessary.
