  • My Favorite Show

Everything I know I learned from watching The Journey Home. I heard of this show about five years ago when my Bible study teacher forgot to bring the DVD she was planning on having us watch that night in class. We watched an episode of The Journey Home instead and I knew I had to have more. I subsequently watched every episode (there are about a thousand episodes now) starting with the first. The converts taught me everything I didn’t know about the faith into which I was born. Thank you EWTN fo... more

  • Journey Home

One of my top two podcasts ever very onspiring. How so many men and women end up becoming Catholic for some reason or another. Thank you God! These stories are written with crooked lines, but God was writing with straight lines.

  • The irresistible call

I have been watching this programme for years on EWTN. Every life story, every journey is unique, yet somehow familiar. I never fail to be inspired by how the Holy Spirit works in our lives. Excellent podcast. I recommend going back to the website and watching all of the programmes from the beginning.

Steve Sjogren - Former Vineyard Pastor
Q: But who are Catholics and non-Catholics alike, how can we do better as a church to share the gospel in this crazy world?
Steve discusses practical outreach, the importance of sacramental life, and inviting believers from different backgrounds to explore Catholic faith through community, service, and shared worship experiences.
Steve Sjogren - Former Vineyard Pastor
Q: One of my favorite lines is from Robert Shuler... How can we do better as a church to share the gospel in today's world?
Steve emphasizes simple acts of kindness, street-level outreach, and encounter through the sacraments as the core of effective evangelization, arguing that seeing and meeting tangible needs opens people to Christ.
Steve Sjogren - Former Vineyard Pastor
Q: The question is, like, what is the basic shape of the theology of the Vineyard in terms of evangelization and the here-and-now, and what did that look like?
Steve explains the Vineyard's emphasis on the Word and the Spirit, the shift toward a more evangelically infused Pentecostal experience, and how those elements were interpreted and deepened within his later Catholic framework.
Steve Sjogren - Former Vineyard Pastor
Q: Well, let's get back to your story then, Steve. So, what happened next for you?
Steve describes his continued ministry work, burnout, a life-changing medical crisis, and a gradual openness that ultimately led him toward Catholicism, including experiences of ministry evolution in Cincinnati and exposure to Catholic practices and communities.
Dr. Marcus Peter/Lee Sondeno - Former Pentecostals
Q: What role did the sacraments and Magisterial teaching play in your journey to Catholic faith?
Both guests describe discovering a sacramental worldview and authority in the Catholic Church that offers a fuller, consistent understanding of grace; the sacraments are experienced not only as rites but as channels of grace that complete their previous practices.
