  • Be careful what you wish for

We all want to see Scottish football improve across the board, but be careful not to chase the modern commercial model at the expense of the soul of the game.

Err was some guy on talking about getting a Macklemore Hibs away kit? Naw, we don’t want to go down that road.

All considered, an important contribution to the game long may it continue.

  • Much needed

Scottish football is crying out for non-partisan in-depth media coverage of the big issues and this does a lot to make up for that gap.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Scotland's World Cup Dream: The Definitive Preview
Q: What was that time like when you got called up and started with Clarke?
It was intense but ultimately rewarding; Clarke emphasized defensive solidity first, then we evolved as a group with time and better club form feeding into the national team.
Scotland's World Cup Dream: The Definitive Preview
Q: Mikey, you were part of Steve Clarke's very first squad. Is that right?
Yeah, I was; it was a strange but exciting time, balancing club form with national team selection, and it set the tone for Clarke's approach.
The 'Dangerous' £25 Ticket Cap Debate + End the 3PM Blackout? (With CEO of St Johnstone)
Q: What are your thoughts on the 3pm blackout and the TV deal?
There is potential in lifting or adjusting the blackout to grow subscribers and revenue, but it must be weighed against potential impacts on matchday attendances and the overall financial model of clubs; the next TV deal will be pivotal for the league.
The 'Dangerous' £25 Ticket Cap Debate + End the 3PM Blackout? (With CEO of St Johnstone)
Q: If you could change just one thing about Scottish football, what would it be?
The main changes would be to the youth development system and the distribution of funds, with a focus on ensuring more Scottish players are developed domestically and that resource allocation supports academies and long-term club sustainability.
Croatia cracked the footballing code! These are the key lessons for Scotland!
Q: Is it just really good tactics, or is there a broader mix behind Croatia's success and the players' development?
The guest argues that it's a combination of factors: systemic development, multi-sport youth exposure, early tactical education, strong competitive mentality, and clear pathways to top leagues, not just isolated tactical genius.
