  • ACSOM

Glass half empty it seems with ACSOM who seem to forget their club has been run very well most of the time since we did sack the board due to them being almost bankrupt trying to catch the club which actually did go bankrupt. Too much nonsense about the board , signings , coaching roles , all of which is guessing as we all know nothing

like most supporters . Very long. Too much for me . Byee

  • Learn how to pronounce the players’ names!

Love the show. Insightful, spirited, smart. But please learn how to pronounce Tounekti and Iheanacho. You lose credibility when you say “Tounetki” and “Innyacho” - as was the case with your inability to get Rogic’s name right.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

A Celtic State of Mind looks back to Lille in Europe under Neil Lennon // One from the ACSOM Archive
Q: Do you think Lennon knows his best team or best formation given injuries and absences?
Lawrence suggests that injuries and availability are crucial in deciding lineup; while there is debate, there is a belief that some consistency in defense is needed and that personnel decisions should reflect fitness and form rather than loyalty, aiming for a stable back line against Lille and Aberdeen.
Celtic's Transfer Window Non-Negotiables // Michael Shearer with A Celtic State of Mind // ACSOM
Q: What is the realistic season outlook for Celtic over the next 12 months?
The guest argues that achieving a treble would be difficult but Europe should be a clear objective; they emphasize the need for significant investment, domestic signings, and a proactive recruitment strategy to become Champions League ready, with a focus on strengthening multiple positions and building a deeper squad.
Throwback to when Tony Haggerty made his ACSOM debut back in 2020 // A Celtic State of Mind
Q: Can Neil Lennon turn the Celtic results around and restore the team's form?
Tony expresses cautious optimism, noting Lennon's past success and the need for time and stability, but also acknowledges that decision-makers at Celtic will determine the future if results don't improve.
Hibernian v CELTIC // LIVE Match Preview // ACSOM // A Celtic State of Mind
Q: What do you make of Martin O'Neill's comments about not carrying players who aren't at peak form?
The hosts interpret it as a signal that the manager will rely on a trusted core group and look to rotate others in to maintain intensity, particularly with fitness concerns around several squad members.
Jonny Owen with A Celtic State of Mind - The Three Kings: The Makers of Modern Football // One from the ACSOM Archive (originally aired on 14th October 2020)
Q: Now, there's a famous quote, Jonny, from Joch Steen. You play a football match without fans, you've got nothing. How much is that resonating in this day and age going through what we are going through at the moment?
Jonny notes the quote's renewed resonance during the pandemic, reflects on the centrality of fan presence to football, and explains how the film connects that idea to broader global football culture.
