The audio is all over the place and very poor by standards of the BBC . Quality doesn’t matter much in terms of content also it seems increasingly.

Michael Stewart is completely unlistenable. The level of insight and quality of chat is several lacking. Had to turn off the Scotland Iceland preview a couple of minutes in as it was so irritating. Also I’m sure Phil Goodlad is a really nice guy but my gran could come out with better cliched fluff.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

How do you build a Scotland squad?
Q: What kind of characters do you need in a World Cup squad?
You want a mix of senior, experienced heads who can steady the group and younger players who bring energy and balance, plus individuals who can adapt to different formations and roles depending on the matches.
Is the World Cup going to be ok?
Q: What are the main tactical and environmental challenges the team faces in Florida and the first games in the U.S.?
The main issues are heat and schedule strain, which will slow tempo and require adjustments in training and preparation to prevent fatigue before the opening games.
Is the World Cup going to be ok?
Q: How is accreditation shaping up for the team and staff on the ground in the United States?
Accreditation is a top priority; there were some initial worries about staff availability, but on arrival it became clear that access was smoother than expected, though signposting remains a challenge.
Celtic v Hearts title-clinching debrief - is Scottish football at a turning point?
Q: What are Hearts' strongest assets going into next season, and where might they face challenges?
The Jamestown analytics partnership, backed by Tony Bloom and a strong financial foundation, should help them recruit well, but they must maintain a domestic core and navigate potential player departures while staying competitive in Europe.
Celtic v Hearts title-clinching debrief - is Scottish football at a turning point?
Q: Cillian, what are your thoughts on the rising trend of pitch invasions and what should be done to address it?
It needs stricter enforcement and accountability, including harsher penalties for individuals and clubs, to dissuade fans from entering the pitch, because otherwise the spectacle and the focus on football get lost in the noise of controversy.
