  • Listen to those you disagree with. That's the only reason I listen to this one. I find the host blatantly judgemental and elbows out conversation about human rights such as right to a healthy environment, and is fixated on wealth accumulation and private property rights without an understanding that property law has its origin in slavery. I wonder what her education is, and why should we listen to her?

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

From Skeptic to Advocate: Brad Crammond's Hybrid Rye Journey I Product Spotlight
Q: What tipped the scale from skepticism to full adoption of hybrid fall rye?
The combination of a strong yield advantage, easier harvest, and the reduced need for herbicide allowed me to justify the higher seed cost and switch to almost exclusive hybrid fall rye after the first year.
From Skeptic to Advocate: Brad Crammond's Hybrid Rye Journey I Product Spotlight
Q: What first got you interested in fall rye, and how did that change your outlook?
I started with fall cereals to spread out workload and saw that hybrid fall rye addressed several issues I had with open-pollinated varieties, especially in terms of yield, harvestability, and weed management, which convinced me to move fully into hybrid fall rye.
Why KWS Hybrid Fall Rye is Matt Gosling's Favourite Crop | Product Spotlight
Q: What makes Hybrid Fall Rye stand out so much to you compared to spring cereals?
Its aggressive early-season competition against weeds, combined with its genetic horsepower and milling quality, provides both immediate weed control and strong long-term profitability, especially in rotations where herbicide resistance is a concern.
The Future Won't Wait: Building Stronger Farm Transitions This Summer with Derryn Shrosbree
Q: How should adult children be involved in transition planning without causing conflict?
Use a balanced approach: prefer the 'ask' strategy over the 'tell' while ensuring open communication and recording commitments to prevent later disputes.
The Future Won't Wait: Building Stronger Farm Transitions This Summer with Derryn Shrosbree
Q: What is the most important question to start with when discussing succession with your family?
Ask what their number one priority is, not just for the farm but personally; this clarity reduces conflict and helps tailor fair and effective plans.
