  • I am involved in agriculture in Nebraska and try to continue to integrate Regenerative principles all the time. I really enjoy Clay's podcast because he provides loads of information to help educate and encourage people in regenerative agriculture. The best part for me is how he includes the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and how he helps educate people on how we are stewards of the land God has given us to take care of.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Finding Your Way in Regenerative Agriculture Through Unconventional Mentorships (WCP 506)
Q: Where do you see the future of starter flocks and how will veteran programs fit in?
Starter flocks paired with a strong veterans program can ease transitions, provide healing through grazing, and help scale mentoring networks across regions, eventually creating a nationwide Veterans Grazing Coalition.
Finding Your Way in Regenerative Agriculture Through Unconventional Mentorships (WCP 506)
Q: What are the things that are top of mind when you talk about mentorship?
Mentorship comes from a variety of sources, including family, colleagues, and chance conversations; valuing untraditional mentorship and learning from both positive and negative examples is crucial for real growth.
Answering Steve Kenyon's Questions about Hearing from God (WCP 505)
Q: How do we tell the difference between God's voice and Satan's voice?
God's voice calms, comforts, and encourages, while Satan's voice obsesses, condemns, and discourages; the guidance is to look for calmness, alignment with Scripture, and consistent outcomes that lead rather than push.
How to Let Your Environment Shape Your Cattle (WCP 504)
Q: How do you handle marketing cows that don't fit your system?
Open cows go to the sale barn in fall, and if they're bred but don't fit, they are paired with a bull for 30 days with fall buyers who purchase them, providing a secondary market and reducing replacement costs.
How to Let Your Environment Shape Your Cattle (WCP 504)
Q: What are the most important criteria you look for in a female when selecting for your program?
Correct hip structure, sound feet, functional udders, easy fleshing, high shoulder rotation with feminine look, and proven fertility with a strong calving record; age and number of calves are considered but reliability matters most.
