  • Thank you!

I met Ericka at a college lecture they gave years ago in 2018 and I have been following ever since. She and Ebony have such insightful and honest voices that are so necessary. I’d like to hear their takes on everything. As a young black woman, refugee, just a being who’s struggling navigating life in America constantly being gaslit by the state of world your words are so refreshing and affirming. Thank you both so much for your labor and the love you have poured in this project.

Twin, Where Have You Been?: A Tender Conversation with Dr. Joy James
Q: Can you speak more to the idea of practicing guerrilla intellectualism?
It's about being engaged in the struggle and understanding the realities of oppression while also aiming for clarity in our resistance efforts.
Twin, Where Have You Been?: A Tender Conversation with Dr. Joy James
Q: How do you navigate the contradiction of being a part of the academy while critiquing it?
I think I struggle with being a part of it and also critiquing it. Maybe I should create my own classes and do my thing separately, but it can feel like there's no choice.
