  • Sinners?

I am a little confused why you are critiquing Sinners for not representing indigenous people on the lands in Mississippi when both Choctaws and Chickasaws owned Black slaves and fought with the confederacy. Supremacy cultures creep in everywhere, how can we dismantle white supremacy (it must GO) when all the complexities remain unaddressed or deliberately ignored

  • Wind River.

I literally just watched this film over the weekend and I’ll admit it was “entertaining” for a film…as an accurate representation of native sisters and brothers it evokes felling of black exploitation films- our faces but not our voices…our voice as a diverse people is hushed while stereotypes are amplified. Something never sat right with me about the film: why was JR the to go to and not the GG as the sworn officer of the law?; his daughter’s death was caused by a serial offender (s) yet no on... more
