  • This is a great podcast!

This is a very good podcast if you are looking for a podcast that helps you cook in a reasonable amount of time (not hour-long episodes).

  • just ok

The sound quality is poor in some of the episodes and I find the music running in the background to be distracting.

  • Overcooked scallops and bad combinations

Just watched a few episodes of this "Food Guru" He's teaching some huge mistakes that can ruin very good and expensive food. For example, he had these nice looking scallops, seared them beautifully then told the view to cover and let simmer for 5 minutes! OMG, that will steam them and the scallops will be totally overcooked, all the juice will come out of the scallop and they'll turn rubbery. Then after this he makes a cream sauce with chocolate!!! and dumps it over the scallops. Seafood and cho... more

  • Superb, Awesome and Outstanding

It is amazing how Peter can breakdown complex cooking techniques and allow a total klutz like me to make truly outstanding meals. The first dish I did was the Bronzed Salmon with Buerri Blanc Sauce. My family and guests never had salmon as tasty as this. I have also become a subscriber to Peter's Video Cookbook, a great value. Check it out. Bob Rutkas

  • Oldfashioned and rich!

Chef Peter Harman claims to be the Food Guru, and that is quite an ambituous title. Unfortunately, he does not live up to it. His recipes are standard, oldfashioned and not very exciting, not to say boring. Chef Harman must have also missed out on current food trends such as light & easy to digest, back to basic, natural or organic ingredients, less carbohydrates and fats, etc. He still tops his cocktails, milkshakes and desserts with as much full cream as possible! It is time for Chef Garman to... more

  • "Guru" should be banned from kitchen

Beware of the "Food Guru" recipes! He relies primarily on cream, butter and fat to create flavours, and his dishes are hideous adaptations of good recipes. Stay away from this man and his food. He knows nothing about good cooking.

  • Very midwestern...

I like the variety of food he makes, but he is constantly deep frying and adding cheese, oil and butter to everything! Some healthier recipes would be nice. Also, instead of 1/2 of the podcast being a recipe and 1/2 being a commercial for his cookbook / website, maybe he could spend a little more time on the details of the dishes (like telling us the measurements of ingredients). Great personality and fun to watch, but leaves something to be desired.

  • Simple, well explained and tasty!

While I'm sure that Peter's cooking is better than mine (even though I follow his directions, I'm a horrible cook!), he makes it so simple, uses minimal ingredients, and explains it thourough enough to grasp. For novice cooks, this show is the best. Even if what you make doesn't look as great as what Peter makes, it's very inspiring to see something so simple!

  • Use of Butter

These recipes are very interesting. My only concern is the loads of butter that Chef Peter uses. Overall I think eating this food every day would be not very good for your heart.

  • Very good, but some episodes are missing...

I get error 400 when trying to download certain episodes of this podcast. I don't think it's just me, because it only applies to some of the episodes, while others download without any hassle. I would have given it five stars, and the missing episodes is an annoyance that makes me knock the rating back by a whole two stars until the issue has been addressed.
