Found myself enjoying listening to this while I re-read the newer book until the hosts revealed their bigotry.
Led to me finding Highly Invested, which is much more enjoyable (and tolerant!). Don’t bother with these guys.
These guys are not pros. Big pauses, awkwardness, and thinking-out-loud-stumbling-thoughts abound. And I really like it! This is just pure authenticity from 3 guys who really like to read these books and talk about them from every angle they can think of. Plenty of deep thinking, sometimes overthinking, and fanboys simply luxuriating in the great literature Mr Sanderson has created. It’s fun! And Elliot is a freaking genius in a surprising number of his predictions. Unbelievable insight on di... more
These guys are homophobic. They have spoken out against the lgbt+ community due to their religious beliefs. Find someone better to support.
Was okay… for a while. One of the hosts genuinely doesn’t seem to understand half the content he reads. One of the others comes across as pretentious. Otherwise, I generally found their discussions interesting enough to keep listening and considered myself a minor fan, even if I had my mild criticisms overall. (Can be a bit dry, awkward chemistry between hosts, main host can’t resist spoilers and teases them way too much for first-time readers IMO, didn’t always agree with their conclusions and ... more
Pretty straightforward read along podcast for the stormlight archives. Hosts are ok, and they’re definitely doing the shows more for themselves than for an audience — which is fine — but leads to a kind of boring listen. One of the hosts doesn’t really seem to follow along and often misses the key theme or point of the chapters they’re covering, which feels odd for a podcast dedicated to it. Still, if it’s more so meant for these guys to catch up with each other, then so be it. Would recommend “... more

A thoughtful, first-time-reader style discussion of epic fantasy universes, with a focus on chapter-by-chapter analysis, worldbuilding, and character psychology. The hosts blend rigorous close-reading with lighthearted banter, often predicting future twists and unpacking Cosmere lore as it unfolds. Notable strengths include clear, idea-driven conversations, recurring segments that reference world-building details, and a welcoming vibe for new readers who want to understand complex systems without spoilers. A standout angle is the emphasis on reader experience and theorycrafting, making it appealing to dedicated fantasy fans seeking depth and camaraderie.
