  • Off to a strong start

As much as I enjoy the IL podcasts from recruiting to tailgates and more, I have much respect for BEST IN CLASS as a parent of a club player. We benefit enormously from the enewsletters with so many insightful tips. In this podcast debut, Coach Danowski is so authentic and shares some excellent info about goal setting, metrics they focus on to win and improve plus suggestions for student athletes and parents that go well beyond lax. Really enjoyed it and going to subscribe. Go Hawks!

Jim Mitchell: The Principles Behind Princeton's Success & The Art Of Playing In The Grey
Q: How does experience on defense influence offensive coaching?
Having defensive experience provides a clearer sense of balance, spacing, and how to prepare for opponent tendencies; it also helps in communicating urgency and accountability.
Jim Mitchell: The Principles Behind Princeton's Success & The Art Of Playing In The Grey
Q: How do you think about drilling with your group?
Drills should create friction and game-like friction; adjust mid-drill to keep them challenging, and always connect practice to the actual opponent so drill work translates to game day.
Torre Kasemeyer: The Shooting Coach Who Turns "Paranoid" Players Into Legends
Q: How do you approach teaching when players have different strengths and ceilings?
I assess what each player can do well, tailor drills to their strengths, use analogies to communicate concepts, and push them to improve with a mindset open to new methods.
Torre Kasemeyer: The Shooting Coach Who Turns "Paranoid" Players Into Legends
Q: What makes a shooter elite, based on your experience with Ryan Brown and others?
Elite shooters combine natural ability with relentless work, precise technique, and the ability to adapt, study the craft, and refine their shot mechanics under pressure.
Torre Kasemeyer: The Shooting Coach Who Turns "Paranoid" Players Into Legends
Q: How did you get into the coaching and training business the way you did?
I started as an offensive coordinator and slowly specialized in training, building Got Skillz Lacrosse and pairing with others to develop a structured program that allowed me to focus on shooting and technique.
