  • Ugh

Kat is so superficial and nearly episode makes a comment that reveals her vanity. They both have a tendency to beself-righteous and snarky. I appreciate their intelligence and perspectives, but the self-important meanness has gotten to be too much. I’m out.

  • Lame

You can’t be contrarian if your take is so predictable. Annoying scolds without a single actual hot take.

  • Love Kat!

I love hearing Kat’s take on things. Phoebe seems to have a hard time understanding nuance and differing perspectives. Her condescending brand of feminism isn’t very tolerant of women who chose different lifestyles than her.

  • Thoughtful and intelligent

I love the measured and thoughtful nature of the co-hosts’ discussions. Even though the subjects of discussion are only tangentially interesting to me, Phoebe and Kat speak so fluently about cultural issues that I always find something to hook on to. They’re a higher class version of Blocked and Reported.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

We Three (with Leigh Stein)
Q: Does the self-help framing help or hinder Lindy West's storytelling?
Many feel it commercializes personal struggle, turning intimate pain into instructional content, which can feel performative or evasive rather than transformative.
We Three (with Leigh Stein)
Q: What does the book say about monogamy, polyamory, and the power dynamics in relationships?
The discussion suggests a complicated, sometimes troubling dynamic where love, dependency, and control intersect with the polyamorous arrangements, prompting questions about consent, self-worth, and agency.
We Three (with Leigh Stein)
Q: Were you familiar with Lindy West before the memoir, and how does her voice come through in the book?
All hosts were familiar to varying degrees; the memoir's late-Internet-era voice is unmistakable, sharply witty but controversial, with a strong self-critical undercurrent.
The Sobriety Hour with Katie Herzog
Q: Can you explain what the Sinclair Method is?
The Sinclair Method is based on the drug Naltrexone, which is an opioid antagonist, to help treat alcohol use disorder by blocking the pleasure associated with drinking.
Premium: Tantric Sex Squirrels
Q: When you set out to write about this, did you imagine that you were just going to think it was nonsense or were you, did you already come at it with like a more nuanced stance on it?
Phoebe had already spoken to intimacy coordinators before writing and was interested in how understanding of their role had evolved.
