  • Ehh

Heterodox outlet that focuses on extreme left voices. Disappointedly underreports ICE violence. Smacks of “both sides”ing our current dysfunction. Highlighting online posts and randos to point to greater tolerance to political violence is not the most convincing.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Paid Protesters
Q: How do you find the people you hire for protests?
Swart describes using a mix of existing networks, outreach to people already upset, and broad recruitment; they also interview candidates via Zoom to assess alignment with causes and personal connection to issues.
Propaganda of the Deed (Part 2)
Q: What does it look like if you and your organization are successful and what does it look like if you fail?
If we fail, we'll be in concentration camps, if not dead. And if we succeed, we'll have ousted the Trump government.
A Nation of Immigrants Votes for Deportations
Q: What do you think Donald Trump can do to enforce immigration laws?
He will likely need to hire more ICE agents and may face challenges related to due process laws in deporting a large number of people.
A Nation of Immigrants Votes for Deportations
Q: What was the thinking behind increasing the numbers of deportations during the Obama administration?
The significant increase in deportations was primarily due to more resources for ICE and increasing numbers at the border, rather than a specific policy objective to ramp up deportations.
Why Doesn't Anyone Trust The Media?
Q: What are your hopes for the journalism world for the next four years?
I hope news organizations will continue to cover every administration without fear or favor, and that we see more clarity in formats to cut through distrust.
