A gripping and sensitive telling of a complex and sad story. Many of us will never have heard of this case, but this is about as thorough a retelling as the story will get, and perhaps the closest to a definitive answer. Recommended.
I thought this was really well put together. The story is heartbreaking and I really feel for Ricky. I really hope they get some closure.
I feel my heart ache when i hear Ricky speak of his sister. I was in tears at some stages. I wish for some kind of closure for him.
This is nicely presented but is strung out with little new information. The ‘Mercury Story’ episode is very misleading as there is no story because he refused to speak to the podcaster. Ok but not great.
Here is the BBC at its best. Listening to the story of that poor family and particularly the brother who was a child when he was with his sister was heart wrenching. Investigative journalism/ documentary making provides a vital function in society. Contrast this with the chaos that is caused by untrained, inexperienced ‘citizen journalists’ whose motivation may be clicks rather than the truth
