  • Great podcast but…..

Love the podcast. Huge fan. However, would rather just be auto downloading the actual podcast and not the debriefs.

  • too many ads

my biggest podcast pet peeve is when ads are randomly dropped in the middle of a conversation and this happens waaaay too often with this podcast. if the actual concern is getting the word out about these cases then you don’t need to be selling ad space every five minutes. makes it pretty unlistenable

  • Debrief

This season 6 seems all over the place, and as a subscriber, I am not getting the weekly episode as started.

Not interested in the debrief, takes away from the weekly episodes. Keep that for YouTube, and go back to putting out great weekly episodes.

I think your seasons worked better when it was just you!

  • “You know”

Season 7 : The Disappearance of “You Know” and The Debrief(s).

Otherwise, Guilt has the potential to propagate top ten all time ‘true crime’ podcast territory.

  • Jacob Saffle should be called Jacob Waffle

Was really looking forward to Ryan’s debrief of Season 3 - David Tamihere case but Jacob’s inability to make a succinct point made me switch off.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

S6 | Q&A Debrief with the Guilt Team
Q: Could Gus leave home early and drive Anne's car out of the driveway to explain the gate being left open?
The team notes this is a plausible scenario but requires several corroborating details (distance, timing, heat in the bonnet) and would need to align with other evidence before concluding Gus's involvement.
S6 | Q&A Debrief with the Guilt Team
Q: Could you investigate the Google Street View for similar-looking houses that Frank could have confused it with?
Jacob explains that while it's possible to compare exteriors and nearby houses, the historical record is limited and there's no obvious alternate match; corroboration from multiple sources remains essential.
S6 | Q&A Debrief with the Guilt Team
Q: Are you able to find out Derek's past crimes to see what he is capable of when very drunk?
The team notes that criminal histories aren't freely accessible in all jurisdictions, especially in New Zealand, and that while there may be a way to probe past offenses, it's not straightforward; such background context could inform a character portrait but may not directly change ongoing investigations.
The Debrief featuring Special Guest Forensic Scientist Thomas Coyle
Q: Can you walk us through the typical steps a forensic examiner takes when entering a crime scene?
The process starts with personal safety and securing the scene, followed by preserving the scene, then taking non-intrusive observations with notes, mapping the layout, and planning a forensic strategy meeting to decide the order of evidence collection to avoid contamination.
S6 | E24 | The Debrief with the Guilt Team
Q: What new angle does Ian bring to the Gus lead that could shift the investigation?
Ian provides firsthand observations and corroborating details about Gus's behavior and proximity to key locations, which strengthens the credibility of the lead and pushes the team to re-evaluate previous assumptions.
