  • Great podcast, binge now!

Found this podcast by searching for anyone talking about The Library at Mount Char and found a new favorite! The conversations about books are casual but still thoughtful and most importantly they have great taste in books! Bingeing all of the Brandon Sanderson episodes now, hope they’ll read Mistborn.

  • Not for me

I like what they’re setting out to do but the way they go about it just isn’t for me. Their discussions are jumbled and it’s hard to follow. They tend to miss the large plot and character points and instead go off on tangents about seemingly insignificant details. And also tend to nit pick without any sense of thoughtful discussion.

  • Great Converations

Have you ever read an amazing Sci-Fi or Fantasy and you have no one to talk to or bounce theories off of? Well, Luke and Daniel satisfy with their commentary over some of the best SFF out there. Ranging from wacky to woke, ‘Don’t Call It a Bookclub’ is a satisfying book hangover remedy.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Tainted Cup: Part One
Q: Do you think anyone's come to the emperor before and been like, 'I've got the solution to this problem'?
Luke and Dan humorously discuss potential solutions like a giant robot to fight the Leviathans, indicating their skepticism on current strategies.
Son of a Liche: Part One
Q: What's that thing that you're bringing that you trundle out of your house with, and everyone's, like, dude, come on?
Luke jokingly mentions he would bring his bike, but realizes it's impractical for an evacuation, while Dan humorously considers a coffee grinder as his must-have item.
Fourth Wing: Part Three
Q: How do you feel about the pacing and structure of the book?
The pacing felt rushed towards the end, and the character development wasn't as strong, especially with Violet's portrayal.
Fourth Wing: Part Three
Q: What do you think about the reveal in the character relationships?
The reveal of Zayden lying by omission creates unnecessary tension that feels contrived, leading to frustration about their dynamics.
