I can’t begin to say what an asset this podcast is. I have always wanted to read the great books, but had no idea where to start. This is so helpful! I love the three different views and strengths the three podcasters bring. I love that nobody seems to be straining to show how much they know over another. Everyone seems to be in it together to look for whatever the truth may be. When are we going to do Dante??

  • Delightful podcast

I found this podcast a few weeks ago through my book club friend. I’m so grateful she spoke up because wow! This podcast helps wake up my mind from being asleep. It allows me to use my mind and think through things in the literature world. I adore books, especially old ones. I’m listening to the back catalogue and love the Gaudy Night episodes. Thank you for helping me use my brain in a different way.

  • Good content, but the execution is lacking

My quibble is with both Angelina and Thomas talking over each other repeatedly, such that it’s difficult to hear what are probably, admittedly, salient and interesting points.

  • Not much here

There’s a whole lot of posturing but not much substance to the podcast. I spent most of the time wondering which they misunderstand more: the writers they like or the ones they don’t.

  • Great Life-Infusing Ideas

Looking for some input on PHANTASTES, I discovered “The Literary Life” podcast on Scribd/ Everand. These thoughts put forward so generously, and unassumingly have lit a fire for reading, respecting, and connecting ideas from the treasure trove of old books that surround any person who can read. They are just pointing to great ideas that will fit any person at any time, and infuse them with meaningful life—Angelina,Thomas and Cindy. I’ve listened on and off between listening to books.
