Over the past few months on the podcast, we’ve talked a lot about how reading aloud benefits kids academically, how it develops their resilience, empathy, and virtue, and even reduces physiological stress. Today on the show, we’re diving into the fli... more

How long is your to-do list?
What if you added in all the extra shoulds and supposed-tos that you are in your head but you don’t even write down because that would be too overwhelming? How long is it then?

Sarah’s podcast leaves me feeling so hopeful and optimistic about my homeschooling journey. There are other podcasts out there that leave me feeling like there are so many things that I have to do and do correctly and if I miss something then I’m just going to be a failure. But Sarah makes me feel that it’s much more simple than that! She points out the most important things and tells me to focus on those; and even though I’ll obviously make mistakes, I can try again and keep going! And I love t... more
Really enjoyed listening to this episode of Read-Aloud Revival and the honest conversation about connection, attachment, and repair in parenting. I appreciated how Dr. Matthew Breuninger reminded parents that relationships with our kids are built through grace and consistency, not perfection.
Ok, we all know the call to homeschool truly comes from the Lord! However, if I think back to probably 2021, listening to Sarah’s anecdotes and perspectives on homeschool life pushed me favorably towards an idea that I previously held a very neutral opinion. Since our oldest was born in 2016, I always held bedtime read-aloud in high regard (missing a night was rare!) I loved listening to RAR for book recommendations and encouragement. Fast forward to 2024 when we made the decision to begin hom... more
Our good friend inspired me to listen to RAR. I fell in love immediately and really appreciate the guidance and encouragement to make reading aloud part of our daily rhythm. Our 4 children are 6.5 and under and some days feel like a whirlwind but we look forward to continuing to grow reading in our home! I have really enjoyed the book lists! The Knight Owl has been one of our favorites and was a gift under the Christmas tree this year. Thanks for all you guys do to make this a wonderful communit... more
I love read-alouds with my mother! I would love to learn how to do that so I can do that someday.
